HOUSE with Nowhere
Nowhere has a new HOUSEmate — and luckily, this one's happy to do the cooking.
Chef Cal Stuart-Bishop, formerly head chef at Mensa and Fugazzi, brings his venture HOUSE to Hutt Street. Seasonal small plates, good wine and a chef who knows exactly what he wants to put on the table.

After years in some of Adelaide's best-known kitchens, Cal started HOUSE to build something of his own — first cooking in people's homes, now in the kitchen at Nowhere.
He describes the bar as having a “very homely vibe”, and likes that Matt and Tom kept the building's character rather than turning it into something else. They opened Nowhere in 2025 for good drinks, good food and somewhere people actually want to spend their time. Now the food gets just as much attention.

- Nowhere, 170 Hutt Street
Good food.
No fuss.
- A handful of dishes, done exceptionally well. No enormous menu, and no need to complicate good food.
- Small and rotating. Snacks and share plates shaped by seasonal South Australian produce.
- Made for the wine list. Built to sit alongside Nowhere's wines and cocktails — think a beautifully prepared crudo, a raw seafood dish or a simple seasonal snack.
“I think our job as a chef is to teach people how to eat, not what they want to eat.”
